Job Description

This is the foundational leadership role for Design at STOKR. You will initially operate hands-on as the primary product designer while structuring the function, then progressively shift focus toward strategy and team leadership as the department grows. You will design within a regulatory environment where UX must balance simplicity, investor protection, auditability, and compliance-by-design. The role requires turning regulatory constraints into competitive user experiences. You will have ownership over design decisions across all STOKR products and direct influence on product roadmap prioritization. We are looking for a design leader combining strong execution skills with the ability to build and scale a discipline. You will translate complex financial, regulatory, and blockchain concepts into intuitive experiences, while establishing STOKR design practices.

Responsibilities

Hands-on Design Ownership:

• Design end-to-end experiences across wallets, crypto-asset subscriptions, stablecoin payments, secondary markets, and Bitcoin Layer-2 flows.
• Create UI mockups and prototypes illustrating real user journeys: wallet connection, signing, transaction previews, L2 bridging, and settlement steps.
• Conduct user research and usability testing focused on blockchain UX patterns.
• Validate designs through testnet and mainnet interactions, ensuring clarity on fees, signing messages, and failure handling.
• Produce visuals and diagrams explaining concepts such as token issuance, stablecoin settlement, and compliance workflows.

Product and Engineering Collaboration:

• Gather and refine requirements with Product, Engineering, and Compliance to ensure feasibility across on-chain and off-chain processes.
• Translate regulatory constraints into user-friendly interfaces without compromising compliance.
• Work closely with Compliance, Risk, and Legal to ensure compliant-by-design journeys.
• Present design proposals to stakeholders and iterate based on technical feedback.

Building the Design Function:

• Define STOKR UX/UI vision and principles across all products.
• Establish and govern the design system and component library.
• Introduce design processes: discovery, research, usability testing, release validation.
• Mentor and develop the existing junior designer, conduct performance feedback, and plan future hiring as the product scope expands.
• Act as the voice of the user at leadership level.

Business Impact:

• Improve conversion across onboarding and investment flows.
• Reduce support tickets related to wallet and transaction confusion.
• Increase task success for investors and issuers in regulated journeys.

Skills And Qualifications

• 7–12 years in UX/UI or Product Design with increasing responsibility.
• Proven ability to move from individual contributor to team lead.
• Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of complex web applications.
• Experience with fintech, payments, or crypto products.
• Demonstrated experience in payments, web3/crypto, and financial services.
• Strong understanding of wallet interactions, signing flows, and transaction logic.
• Ability to work in a regulated environment with Compliance stakeholders.
• Excellent communication in English.
• Proficiency in Figma, Jira and Adobe Suite.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Bitcoin Layer-2 or EVM ecosystems.
• Background in financial products or capital markets.
• Experience building a design system from zero.
• Prior management of at least one designer.
