STOKR PRODUCT UPDATE JULY-AUGUST 2021

Welcome back! It has been some time since our last update, but we have been working tirelessly to bring you some really cool updates. Let’s get right into it and start with the biggest and baddest update that has been months in the making.

NEW AND IMPROVED IDENTITY VERIFICATION FLOW

We'll be honest here, this has been a pain point for some users on our platform. The first version of our verification process (KYC) worked fine for the earlier days of STOKR, but as we have scaled up and our user base has increased by the thousands, the flaws in that system began to show. It was time for an upgrade.

We have made some backend improvements and frontend user interface changes that makes the entire flow a bit faster with less failures. There is also more capability to handle high traffic without performance issues. One important thing we learned is that there were less user failures when the flow is done with a smartphone instead of a computer, so we are making the main option to begin the process with an SMS link or a QR code.

We have been working on this for over six months, and it was finally deployed in late August. There was a lot of thought, work, and repetitive testing that went into this new version of our KYC flow, so we hope our new users will have an even more seamless experience while enjoying a cleaner and more sensible user interface!

BLOCKSTREAM MINING WEEKLY UPDATE EMAIL

For our Blockstream Mining offering (BMN1), investors will now get a weekly update for the amount of Bitcoin the mining project has earned them based on their investment. A quick snapshot of what you earned in the previous week and what you have earned in total will be shown.

INTRODUCING....ALGORAND!

That’s right, we have added a new network to our arsenal. We are capable of hosting Liquid-based projects, Ethereum-based projects, and now we can host projects based on the Algorand network. 

Algorand is one of the hottest blockchains out there right now, so it only makes sense to add it to our platform. Once we have an Algorand-based project go live on our platform (hopefully soon), you will be able to register either a MyAlgoWallet or an Algosigner wallet to invest. We will have more in-depth detail on this update in a blog post soon, so stay tuned!
